There are organizations doing valuable work on pieces of this — legal advocacy, academic research, professional directories, public education. But the lifestyle events industry still operates without shared professional standards. ENM businesses face payment processor shutdowns, insurance denials, and zoning battles with no trade group in their corner. And the broader community — swingers, polyamorous families, kink communities — rarely coordinates around the issues that affect all of them.
ULA was built to close those gaps. We're here to raise professional standards, protect ENM businesses, and work alongside the organizations already fighting for this community — so the whole movement gets stronger, not just louder.
Real resources for a community that's been underserved
Industry standards for events
There's no professional certification program for lifestyle event organizers — no shared safety protocols, no consent practice benchmarks, no operational standards that attendees or organizers can point to. ULA is building one. Voluntary, practical, and designed by people who actually run events.
Business advocacy
ENM businesses run into problems that general advocacy orgs aren't built to solve: payment processors dropping accounts, insurance denials, zoning fights. ULA will serve as a trade association for lifestyle businesses — connecting them with legal, financial, and regulatory resources.
Education and public awareness
Consent education, media resources, public outreach, and a professional directory of therapists, coaches, and providers who actually understand ENM — working collaboratively with the organizations that have been leading this effort for years.
A bigger tent
Swingers, polyamorous families, kink communities, lifestyle businesses — these groups share common interests but rarely coordinate. ULA brings them together around the rights and protections that matter to all of them.

Steve Bartolone and Nicole Sittman
Steve and Nicole have spent more than 30 years in the ENM community — as participants, educators, event producers, and business owners. They run HMI Multimedia, Inc. and have built community-focused brands including Lifestylers Magazine, LSM-TV, HWP Entertainment, BIA Vida Productions, and Catalyst Management Group.
Their guiding principle across all of it has been three words: Consent Is Sexy. Everything they build starts there.
They created ULA because they kept seeing the same pattern: talented organizers operating in isolation, community members facing discrimination without support, and organizations doing great work in silos that rarely connected. They saw an opportunity to bring the lifestyle industry's operational experience together with the advocacy and legal infrastructure that already exists — and to fill the gaps where no one was working yet.
